Annotation:
This subject extends basic knowledge of networks in routing, dynamic routing protocols, and configuration of some routing protocols (RIP, EIGRP, OSPF). These knowledge is important for understanding how routing in Internet works. Other topics include switches and routers configuration, network design, VLAN principles, routing between VLANs, Spanning Tree Protocols, wireless networks. Main gold is to understand, how to configure networks devices for various practical situations and understand, how protocols and services work. After completing this subject, student will be prepared for work with network devices and he will know, how networks work.
 
Course contents:

Router configuration - basic settings, network access, serial tty connection, Cisco IOS basic modes and commands (allowance 0/0)
2.Static routing - static paths, default gateway, summarization, static records configuration (allowance 0/0)
3.Dynamic routing protocols - comparison and summary of vector distance and link state protocols, practical configuration (allowance 0/0)

RIP routing protocol - description, differences between versions, detailed configuration and testing (allowance 0/0)
5.
EIGRP routing protocol - description, detailed configuration and testing (allowance 0/0)
6.
OSPF routing protocol - description, SPF algorithm, detailed configuration and testing (single area, multi area) (allowance 0/0)
7.Nework design, layer based (access, distribution, core), infrastructure design, switches, budget (allowance 0/0)
8.Switch configuration - basic settings, network access, serial tty connection, Cisco IOS basic modes and commands (allowance 0/0)

VLAN, VTP - VLAN principles, VLAN types, VLAN configuration (Cisco IOS) (allowance 0/0)
10.
Spanning Tree Protocol - description, SPT types, SPT substitution, configuration on switches (allowance 0/0)

Routing between VLANs - description, example using switch, example using router (allowance 0/0)
12.WiFi basics - basic concepts, standards, frequencies, channels, security, Radius server, access point configuration (allowance 0/0)
